ELEY’s specialist test facility at the factory plant in England was visited this week by the members of the US Army Marksman Unit to make their selection of ammunition for the 2010 season. On the first day of testing Glenn Sulser from the USAMU, shooting with a Shilen barrel in an 1813 action, shot a new range record score of 428.00.

Members of the British team have just taken part in the 2009 National Rimfire and Air Rifle Benchrest Championship held at Portishead Shooting Club in Somerset bank holiday weekend, the team have come away with a haul of medals and trophies once again shooting with Eley ammo.

The first leg of the European World Cups kicks off this week in Germany, with rifle, pistol and shogun events taking place from 12th to 21st May 2009. A strong field of shooters is expected to compete at the Olympic Shooting range in Garching, Munich.

Results are in from the 40th Grand Prix of Liberation which took place in Pilsen Czech Republic from 8-10th May, the event commemorates the liberation of the city by American troops in May 1945. The four day competition attracted some a strong field of shooters and produced some excellent performances.

Two-time Olympic medalist Matt Emmons and his wife Katy, a three-time Olympic medalist for the Czech Republic, welcomed their first child, Julie Jamie Emmons on April 2. Julie (pronounced "Yulia" in Czech) arrived at 4:45pm in Plzen, Czech Republic and weighed 2.68 kg and was 50 cm long; or six lbs and 19.5 inches.
